1 killed, 14 hurt in accidents

MANGALORE: Eleven people were injured when a bus and a truck collided head on at Kodikkal, in Kavoor police station limits on Sunday.
Police said the injured were Ganesh (25), Shobha (45), Bharath Kumar (14), Raju (25), Amthul Mugeeth (25), Seetha Shetty (35), Leela (35), Chandrashekar (35), Kamala (60), Sharath kumar (200 and A.R. Mukthar (52). It was a case of rash driving, they added.
In another accident, one person was killed and three occupants of a jeep were injured when the jeep rolled into a ditch, after the driver lost control over the vehicle, at Guthyadi in Venoor police station limits, on Sunday.
The deceased was Nagaraj Bhat, who received severe head injuries. He died on the way to the hospital.
The injured are Sunanda, Sadananda Hegde and Latha alias Leelavathi. Police said the slippery road, due to rain, may have caused the accident.
