SHAHJAHANPUR: A 38-year-old woman was grievously injured by a wild boar in Bhundi village of Shahajahanpur district’s Nigohi block on Thursday afternoon. Ramwati was rushed to hospital, but she succumbed to injuries during the course of treatment.
Last month, a wild boar had grievously injured two persons.
The incident took place when Ramwati was going to deliver food to her husband Sundarlal who was working in the field.
The wild boar suddenly came out of a sugarcane field and attacked her.
Locals working in nearby fields rushed to her help and rescued her. Ramwati was immediately shifted to a community health centre, where she was referred to a higher centre, but she succumbed to her injuries during the course of treatment at a hospital.
After getting information, local MLA Roshanlal Verma and tehsildar Rajeshwar Singh visited the bereaved family and ensured them of compensation.
Rajeshwar Singh told TOI, “I have collected details of the victim’s family members, and information will now be sent to the district administration for compensation.”
