Disabled to encourage persons

with disabilities, on the eve of World Disability Day. Over 200 people turned up to showcase their talent in front of district magistrate

, who was the chief guest at the event.

Since the number of participants was more than expected, the organisers had to complete the race in two rounds to make sure that everybody was given a chance to participate. The enthusiasm was clearly visible on the faces of participants, who were ecstatic after being given a chance to show their talent. A crutches race was also organised.

Later, all the racers were awarded participation certificates and the winners from different categories were awarded trophies and cash by DM Yadav.

There was a cash prize of Rs 2,100 for the winner of wheelchair and crutches race, while the prizes for runners up were Rs1,100 and Rs 500. The winners in wheelchair race category were Ravendra Kumar, Munesh Kumar and Banwarilal while the winners in crutches race were Khushiram, Jitendra Kumar and Ramesh Kumar respectively.

"For me every participant is a winner and the enthusiasm shown by all of you was amazing. I would request all of you to keep the same energy level in every work you do in your life. All of you are special," said DM Yadav, addressing the participants.
