The incident came to light when her family found her in a deteriorating condition and rushed her to the district hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries on January 17.

Prempal, the woman’s uncle, told the police that Kumari Pilkush drank the acid accidentally from the toilet, leading to her critical condition. Despite immediate medical attention, her condition worsened, and she passed away during treatment on Friday.

According to Circle Officer (CO) Pankaj Srivastava, the woman's family initially refused to allow a post-mortem examination, but agreed after being persuaded by the police. The body was later handed over to the family after the autopsy was conducted on Friday evening.

The family mentioned that the woman had suffered a serious head injury two years ago, which had not fully healed despite medical treatment.
