Two injured in truck-ambulance collision

Pilibhit: Two persons, a driver and his helper of an ambulance van, were critically injured on Tuesday when their vehicle collided head-on with a truck coming from the other side on Pilibhit-Basti national highway near Ruria village under Puranpur police station.

According to the police, the ambulance returning to Haryana via Pilibhit after dropiing the body they were carrying it in Palia.

The driver has been identified as Anil Saini and the helper as Ankit Yadav, both residents of Narnaul village of Haryana.

The injured were first shifted to Puranpur community health center and later transferred to district government hospital in Pilibhit in view of their critical condition. The truck driver fled the spot along with the vehicle.

“An FIR against the anonymous truck driver is awaited,” said station house officer Atar Singh.
