Two held for making extortion calls to bank manager
Bareilly: Moradabad police has arrested two accused in connection with making extortion calls to a bank manager. On Sunday, Civil Lines circle officer Deepak Bhuker said the accused had made an extortion call to bank manager Hari Chauhan, introducing themselves as assailants of Yogendra Bhura, the block head who was shot dead in a broad daylight in 2014.

After receiving the threat call, Chauhan, a resident of Buddhi Vihar colony, approached police on Friday.
The CO said after Chauhan lodged a complaint with police, they took his mobile number on surveillance.
“The call on his mobile phone was made by Aditya and Shubham Chaudhary. We managed to trace them and raided at their whereabouts. Both accused were arrested and sent to the jail,” said the CO, adding that they seized the mobile phone that was used to make the extortion call.
Police said both the accused were residents of Bilari area in Moradabad.
Notably, Bhura was gunned down on the court premises in February 2014, following which two accused, Sumit and Pankaj, were arrested.
The CO said that they were investigating the matter and examining whether the accused had any connection with the Bhura murder case.
