BAREILLY: Unable to repay their debts, two farmers hanged themselves in two villages under Nawabganj police station on Thursday morning.
Deceased have been identified as Rakesh Kumar (35) of Yakubpur village and Jasvir Singh (45) of Amabarpur village.
Nawabganj police station house officer Dalvir Singh said Kumar had borrowed Rs 3,000 from his friends. On Thursday morning, he hanged himself while he was alone at home.

His wife and sons were away to her maternal home.
Police had to break open the door, locked from inside, in order to enter his house .
Farmer Jasvir Singh had taken a loan of Rs 12 lakh from a bank near his village in 2016 but was struggling to repay it. In order to repay his debts, he mortgaged his property but could still not clear his dues.
jasvir Singh was a native of Amabrpur village but went to Chanakyapuri village, 18 km away, and hanged himself from a tree. The deceased is survived by his mother, wife and two children, the SHO said.
