Three booked for illegal possession of govt land
Pilibhit: Two men along with a farmer were booked in Pilibhit district on Thursday evening for alleged possession of a government land of over one hectare and using it for farming.
The revenue administration had got the land freed from their "illegal possession earlier, too, but it was again occupied by them".
According to Mohammad Yunus, a lekhpal posted at Amaria tehsil, the land grabbers were identified as Jwala Prasad and Mohammad Tariq while the farmer who was cultivating the land was identified as one Mohammad Nasir.

They all belong to Kurri village under Sungarhi police station limits.
Referring to the revenue status of the land, the lekhpal said a part of it was entered into the official records as a yard for stacking the harvested crops and the remaining area was left uncultivated.
SHO Atar Singh said that the three named persons were booked under section 447 (criminal trespass) of IPC and sections 2, 3 of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, 1984.
