Thieves steal mobiles, cash from shop

BAREILLY: On Tuesday night, thieves struck a mobile phone shop at Novelty crossing under Kotwali police station and fled with 18 mobile phones and Rs 20,000 cash, said police.
In his police complaint, shopkeeper Sajid Qureshi claimed that the stolen phones were worth around Rs 16,000.
“When I opened the shop in the morning, I was shocked to find mobile phones missing from the showcase.

I immediately raised an alarm. The thieves would have barged into my shop through ventilator,” he said.
Kotwali SHO Gitesh Kapil said, “The matter seems to be doubtful, as it is difficult for anyone to enter the shop through the ventilator hole which opens on the roadside. Besides, there is no access to reach the ventilator as the shop is on the third floor. We have registered an FIR against unidentified miscreants and investigating the matter.”
