Pilibhit police replaces attempt to murder with murder after receiving autopsy report

Pilibhit: Pilibhit police on Saturday evening replaced IPC section 307 (attempt to murder) with section 302 (murder) after receiving the autopsy report from Etawah police in connection with setting ablaze a 15-year-old Dalit girl.
The girl was allegedly set ablaze by businessman Amandeep Singh Jolly and his mother at their residence in Srabhi Colony under Sungarhi police station on November 25.The girl succumbed to her burn injuries on December 15 at Safai Medical College in Etawah district.
Pilibhit police, however, said they were yet to receive the dying declaration of the girl.
Pilibhit superintendent of police Abhishek Dixit said, “We have modified the sections in FIR after receiving the autopsy report, which confirmed she died due to pre-mortem burn injuries. Now, we are waiting for her dying declaration recorded in Safai by a magistrate. The dying declaration may disclose if any other crime was committed against the girl.”
