Bareilly: Taking a dig at Chaudhary Fawad Hussain, a former minister of Pakistan who had recently shared a video featuring Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on his social media handle with a caption ‘Rahul on fire’, national president of All India Muslim Jamaat Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi said on Friday, “Fawad Chaudhary has interfered to influence the Lok Sabha elections in India.
Elections in India are being held under a democratic system and the Election Commission of India is an independent body which is conducting fair polling.” The Bareilly-based cleric added: “Pakistan’s intelligence agency wants to influence the polls in India through the former minister of Pakistan, but the Muslims of India and the common people here will foil the conspiracy of the Pakistan govt.”
He further said, “As far as Muslims are concerned, Pakistan should stop advocating for Indian Muslims. Muslims here are free and independent. We raise issues of Muslims prominently in front of our govt. Our Constitution in India has given us freedom and we have the liberty to say our point of view. “We do not need to rely on foreign powers. We also want that foreign powers like Pakistan to refrain from interfering in our country’s internal matters.” Fawad Chaudhary had been sharing multiple tweets from his social media account since his first tweet had drawn sharp criticism from BJP leaders.
BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya had said, “From a manifesto, that has imprints of the Muslim League to a ringing endorsement, from across the border, Congress’s dalliance with Pakistan can’t get more obvious.”
