Bareilly:
Information Technology (IT) department of MJP Rohilkhand University had developed a website for online submission of entrance forms for admission to several courses for which the submission process in going on. At present, over 23,000 applicants had successfully submitted their entrance test forms and the number is likely to increase as last date of online submission of form is April 11.Talking to TOI, in-charge of website section Ravindra Kumar Gautam said, “The initiative was taken by the department after coming across several technical glitches with outsourcing agencies that were hired last year. While it was a semi-online process, it was also expensive, as applicants were charged more for making payment online.”
Quoting last year's process where applicants had to shell out Rs 30 more for depositing fees for appearing in entrance examination, Gautam said, “ This time round it is completely online and works on unique concept of ‘greenery system’, which given freedom to applicant from sending hard copies to varsity via registry or speed post.”
He said, “While semi-online process was expensive as the gateway that was used last year charged Rs 30 per transaction, thereby increasing the load on an applicant’s pocket. This time, we are using ‘tech process’ gateway of HDFC bank which charges a mere Rs 7 per transaction.”
"So far, we have not received even a single complaint regarding submission of entrance test forms," claimed Gautam, adding “It is a win-win situation for both applicants and the varsity, as the system had saved money of both.”
According to varsity officials, more than 23,848 applicants had applied for 6,000 seats in various undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses to be filled during new academic session. The number of applicants is likely to increase further as the last date for online submission of forms is April 11. MJP Rohilkhand officials are overwhelmed by the response of aspirants.
