PILIBHIT: A 24-year-old man was killed and two others were seriously injured in a head-on collision of two bikes on the Bamrauli-Bilsanda Road near Biharipur Khurd village under the Bilsanda police station limits on Tuesday night.
Police shifted the three injured to a community health centre at Bilsanda where one of them, identified as Ramphool of Deorauchi village in Shahjahanpur, succumbed to head injuries. The dead man's kin allegedly created a ruckus at CHC claiming that "the medical officer on night duty was absent and the preliminary medical aid to the victims was given by the hospital's sweeper and the ward boy". CMO Alok Kumar, has constituted a three-member probe committee of government medical officers. "It is a serious matter. I will see to it that stringent action is taken against those responsible," he said.
Police said that Ramphool was on his way to Biharipur Khurd along with his relative Shri Niwas (22). The other bike's rider has been identified as Sumit Mishra (22) of Ilabans Simra village under Bilsanda police station. Police are yet to receive any written complaint in the matter. An FIR would be lodged once it is filed.
