: Unidentified men were booked on Saturday morning for allegedly stealing ration meant for mid-day meal and one LPG cylinder from the kitchen of a government primary school in Pajawa village on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.


The theft came to light after staff visited the school in the morning, following which principal Sakshi Chaudhary lodged a complaint at Puranpur kotali.

“According to the basic education department’s rule, government primary schools are not provided with a security guard. The thieves broke opened the lock and fled with 40 kg rice, 30 kg wheat, a pressure cooker, utensils used in cooking food, crockeries and an LPG cylinder,” said Chaudhary.

Station house officer (SHO) Ajab Singh said an FIR was registered under section 379 (theft) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
