Man, 28, found dead in field in Pilibhit

PILIBHIT: A 28-year-old man was found dead in his brother's agricultural fields in Uganpur village on Monday evening, police said. The man, Nand Lal, worked at an industrial unit in Uttarakhand's Udham Singh Nagar district and was also a marginal farmer. He had returned home a couple of days ago to check on his crops. On Monday morning, his body was found in the agricultural fields of his elder brother, Sher Bahadur. There were deep wounds on his head and forehead, and his left arm was fractured. His bike was parked outside his brother's house. ASP Anil Yadav and Pilibhit city CO Anshu Jain, inspected the spot. Police sent the body for autopsy and took three-four villagers in custody. An FIR was filed under IPC section 302 (murder).

60-yr-old farmer trampled to death by elephants in Pilibhit

A 60-year-old man named Gopi Chand was killed by wild elephants in Pilibhit district, Uttar Pradesh. This marks the third human death in the district due to elephant encounters in the past 20 days. The village where the incident occurred is surrounded by a wildlife sanctuary, and authorities have been criticized for not fulfilling promises related to villagers' safety and compensation for crop damage caused by elephants. The case will be forwarded to the state administration for compensation.

Captured tigress released in Pilibhit reserve

A three-year-old tigress, who had been causing terror among locals, was captured and released in the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve. After being tranquilized and captured, the tigress was provided with mutton and water, indicating good health. The chief wildlife warden gave permission for her release in an area with a low density of tigers. Meanwhile, another tiger has been spotted in a nearby village, leading to increased precautions to prevent human-animal conflict.

Tigress captured in Uttar Pradesh's Pilibhit

A tigress that had been causing fear among locals in Pilibhit has been captured by forest officials. The residents of Jamunia Khaspur village found the tigress hiding in a sugarcane field, and a team of forest officials managed to tranquilize and capture her. The tigress, estimated to be about three years old, is in good health and will likely be released on Wednesday. It is believed that she was forced to venture out of the forest due to the presence of adult tigers in the area.
