Shahjahanpur: Members of
Hindu Yuva Vahini on Wednesday staged a
protest against a college girl
, who, they claimed, had posted “anti-national” messages on her
Facebook page
by criticizing the
Army and protesting against the alleged human rights violation in Jammu and Kashmir.
Members of the right wing outfit demanded "strict action" against the girl and held a protest in the city. Later they approached police and handed over a written complaint to the SP.
The agitators were led by Sanket Srivastava, Hindu Yuva Vahini’s Shahjahanpur city president, and carried printouts of the girl’s FB posts. “We want strict action against her because her comments are
anti-national
and cannot be tolerated. We have asked the SP (city) to act promptly and sternly,” Srivastava said.
Meanwhile, SP (city) Dinesh Tripathi told TOI, “We have received a written complaint from Hindu Yuva Vahini and I have forwarded it to Sadar police station. The case will be investigated by station officer KK Tiwari. The identity of the girl is yet to be confirmed.”
