Engineers are trying to find out the reason behind derailment.”
According to railway officials, due to derailment, four trains were diverted via Chandausi to Moradabad. “Dibrugarh-Chandigarh Express (15933), Guwahati Express (15909), Howrah-Haridwar (12369) and Janseva Express (15209) have been diverted from Bareilly Cantt to Moradabad via Chandausi,” said Bareilly junction station master Bharat Arya.
Nagaria station master S C Sagar told TOI, “There was no sign of any technical glitch in the goods train that passed by our station at 2.38 pm. Signals were down and we watched the train carefully. There was no smoke or any other sign to hint us about any fault in the wheels. Track was also accurate as another goods train had passed at 2.10 pm without any hassle.”
Vineet Saxena, a private bank official, who commutes to Moradabad daily in train, said, “Though all derailments during the past three days were minor, the movement of trains was affected. On Monday morning, after a derailment, the traffic had come to a halt for couple of hours and I reached office in Moradabad two hours late. Similarly, today (Thursday), I returned home late by two hours. Besides this, safety is a major concern for us.”
