UP: Father-son duo arrested for murdering two youths, dumping their bodies in river

police on Sunday arrested a father-son duo for allegedly murdering two youths and dumping their bodies in

Ramganga

river in Miranpur Katra area.

The incident came to light when police fished out the two bodies from the river on Sunday and arrested the two accused, identified as Veerpal Yadav, 55 and his son Inderpal Yadav, 25. An FIR has been registered under section 302 (murder) and both the accused have been sent to jail.


Sansar Singh, SP rural area, said that the two deceased, Bhupendra Yadav, 26, and Dhirendra Yadav, 17, were cousins and were friends with Veerpal’s daughter. He said, “When they didn’t return home, Dhirendra’s father Amarpal Singh lodged a missing complaint with the Faridpur police on February 25. We then started investigating the case and alerted our surveillance team. We checked their call records and found that Bhupendra used to call Veerpal’s daughter.”

He added that on a tip-off seven police teams raided Miranpur Katra area and nabbed the two accused. The SP said, “Veerpal confessed to the crime and said that they committed the murders as he suspected that the cousins were having an affair with his daughter.”

He told police that on February 21 when he and his son returned home from a wedding, they found the two boys with his daughter and he was enraged. “Following an argument, they strangled the two youths to death and dumped their bodies in Ramganga river.”

The SP added that Dhirendra was a class XII student and Bhupendra was pursuing MA at Bareilly College.
