Uttar Pradesh: Farmer dies of ‘cold’ in Pilibhit

A 60-year-old man, Chotte Lal, who was staying overnight at his crop field toguard against stray cattle is suspected to have died of cold at Patrasiya village in Barkheda area of UP’s Pilibhit district.

BAREILLY: A 60-year-old man, Chotte Lal, who was staying overnight at his crop field to guard against stray cattle is suspected to have died of cold at Patrasiya village in Barkheda area of UP’s Pilibhit district.
Chotte Lal was sleeping on a charpoy in a thatched hut built in his crop field on Saturday night.
On Sunday, his son found him lying unconscious and immediately rushed him to the district hospital, where he was declared dead.

A team led by tehsildar Devendra Singh visited the village and met the aggrieved family. Village head Harinand Gangwar informed police about the death and raised the issue with the local administration. Tehsildar Devendra Singh met the family of the farmer and offered compensation but the dead man’s son, Gopi, refused to accept it. Kanwardeep Singh
