SHAHJAHANPUR: In a notice issued to all schools of
Lakhimpur Kheri
district, superintendent of police S Channapa has asked them to sensitise and counsel their students about the deadly blue whale game which has claimed lives of many youngsters across the world.
The schools have been directed to keep an eye on their students, and inform the parents if they find them performing any suspicious activity.
The SP told TOI, “The schools have been alerted to ensure that their students do not get trapped in the vicious circle of blue whale game. We have asked them to conduct regular counselling of those students who look depressed.”
Sunny Gupta, manager, Uma Devi Children Academy, Mohammdi, told TOI, “We have already alerted our students about the game. All children, especially those who use virtual reality-enabled phones, have been instructed to block all game requests as that could be blue whale game.”
The directions came in the wake of a student committed suicide and another attempted to jump from the roof of his school recently. However, according to officials, blue whale game connection couldn’t be established in both cases, thus far.

, which involves a series of duties given by administrators that players must complete — some of which involve self-mutilation — and the last task being suicide.
