Victim said, “On Friday around 7:25 am, 15 minutes before my husband left for a walk, I went to a nearby temple. I was on my way when three unknown men stopped me and said they are cops. They told me I should not be wearing gold ornaments as there are many loot and robbery cases reported in the area. They ordered me to keep the jewellery in a handkerchief. I opened my handkerchief after reaching the temple and saw stones inside it instead of my jewellery. I immediately informed the police.”

Prem Nagar station house officer (SHO), Balbeer Singh said, “Six policemen rushed to the spot after receiving the information. The trio had managed to escape. An FIR has been lodged against three unidentified accused under sections 420 (Cheating), 406 (criminal breach of trust) of IPC. We are conducting raids at crime locations to nab the accused.”
