BAREILLY
: A 25-year-old drunk man who thought his 36-year-old sister-in-law Anjali Mishra was complaining against him while speaking to her mother on phone allegedly thrashed her brutally on Friday morning. She is in a critical condition. An FIR has been lodged. The accused is absconding.
The incident happened at Nekpur village under Subhash Nagar police station.

Yogesh Mishra broke an iron tap in the house and repeatedly hit Anjali with it. Yogesh is a labourer.
Anjali was alone at home as her husband,
Vishal Mishra, was away at work. Yogesh came home drunk and overheard Anjali speaking with her mother. Assuming she was complaining against him, he attacked her in a fit of rage. Anjali’s mother who heard the commotion, immediately informed her husband.
Anjali has been admitted in the district hospital. She said, “Yogesh has been threatening to kill me for the past two years. He must be sent to the jail for attempting to kill me.”
