on Wednesday assured non-governmental organisations (NGOs) working in the field of women and child rights of all possible help if they come forward and fight against atrocities faced by women.

At a meeting held at

auditorium, DM and SSP discussed various issues related to women, especially teenaged girls. They also discussed with NGOs that how they could help administration in addressing various issues concerning women, including atrocities and sexual abuse faced by them.

DM said, “Each and every person of the society is highly distressed seeing the level of crime faced by our innocent girls, even toddlers. NGOs have come up with a roadmap, and I assure them that we will provide all possible help to them.”

Before launching awareness drives, DM asked NGOs, go through old cases of crime against women to get well acquainted with the issues confronting women and girls. DM also asked NGOs to make citizens aware about women helpline 181, child helpline 1098, Asha

SSP said NGOs could play a vital role in educating people about the importance of police action if they raise an alarm immediate. “Most of the victims ignore the culprits, which encourages culprits to advance. We urge women and girls to lodge complaint against the accused on 181 or 1098 and promise them that we will take prompt action against the accused,” SSP said.
