Ameesha Patel has been summoned by a Moradabad court in a cheque bounce case related to a 2017 event payment dispute. Event organiser
Pawan Verma alleged that Patel took advance money to attend a Moradabad programme but failed to appear. After he filed a case under IPC sections 120-B, 406, 504, and 506, both sides later settled for Rs 14 lakh, of which Rs 8 lakh was paid. Patel allegedly issued a Rs 2 lakh cheque for part payment, which bounced. Following this, Verma lodged a new case under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. The court has summoned Patel to appear in person on Jan 9, 2026.
