BSP natl gen secy visits Dargah Aala Hazrat
Bareilly: BSP national general secretary Naseemuddin Siddiqui visited Dargah Aala Hazraton Tuesday evening and offered a chadar. Siddiqui also met senior clerics associated with the shrine. Just before his visit, he told mediapersons that he was visiting because of his faith and “it has got nothing to do with politics.” However, the shrine’s spokesperson Mufti Mohammed Salim Noori said the BSP leader was here for political gain ahead of state assembly elections in 2017.

“As the relation between clerics at the dargah and Samajwadi Party has soured in the past few years, BSP wants to use this opportunity to strengthen their vote bank,” said Noori, talking to TOI.
After offering prayers at the shrine, Siddiqui visited the house of Hazrat Subhan Raza Khan, chairperson of the dargah. The BSP leader also met Mohammed Ehsan Raza Khan who is Sajjadanasheen (hereditary head) of the shrine and Maulana Mannan Raza Khan.
“The BSP leader visited here for political gains. However, using the shrine or any other religious place for politics is wrong. As clerics here do not have a cordial relationship with Samajwadi Party (SP), BSP wants to use this opportunity for their benefit,” said shrine spokesperson Noori.
“After Muzaffarnagar riots, Dadri incident and our local dispute related to Qutubkhana mosque, we have realized that SP is not working in the interest of Muslims. Though there is majority of Sunni Barelvis in the state, none of them hold position in Sunni Central Waqf Board, UP Haj Committee, UP Madrassa Board and UP Minority Commission.”
