BAREILLY: A day after the main accused of the triple murders case-Suresh Tomar-was arrested by police, his sister-in-law has filed a cross FIR against the farm house owner where the incident occurred on January 11.

In her complaint, Anita Devi said that she along with her brother-in-law Suresh and his sons were carrying out some repair work on her farmland, which is adjacent to Sikh farmer Paramveer's land when they were attacked.

Police have slapped sections of murder, attempt to murder and rioting against Paramveer and 15 others, arrested four people so far.

Nearly 1,000 bighas of land is available alongside Ramganga river in Faridpur area of Bareilly. The Sikh farmer and his family migrated from Chandigarh nearly 3 years ago and had purchased nearly 500 bigha land. It is alleged that the farmer's group had encroached on some part of the land, that belonged to Suresh, and it led to the incident. "After a second FIR by the second party, we arrested four people including farmer Paramveer Singh. Among the three people killed during cross-firing, one of the victims - Gul Mohammed alias Golu - belonged to Suresh's group. Both cases are being investigated," additional SP (rural) Rajkumar Agarwal said.
