Actor beaten up by brother-in-law now accused of rape

BAREILLY: In a fresh twist to the case in which the lead actor of an upcoming low-budget Hindi movie accused a man of beating him up, and chopping off his hair after his sister-in-law was refused a role in the film, the sister-in-law in question filed a case against the actor, Arjun Pawsan on Thursday, accusing him of attempting to rape her. She alleged that Paswan had tried to sexually assault her on March 30, and had also made an objectionable video of her, which he threatened to post on social networking sites if she complained to anyone.
However, she said, she narrated her ordeal to her family members, as a result of which her infuriated brother-in-law went to Paswan’s house and gave him a thrashing.
Talking to TOI, SP City Rajeev Malhotra said, “It is a complex case. Both parties have leveled serious allegations against each other. We are investigating the matter, and the truth will come out soon.”
