Youth molests 11-year-old in Jalna

AURANGABAD: A 24-year-old youth from Chandanzira area of Jalna, 60 km from here, was arrested for allegedly molesting his 11-year-old neighbour on Tuesday, even as police have been deployed in the region since Wednesday afternoon to maintain law and order.
According to the police, on Tuesday around 7 pm, the suspect, Ganesh Jadhav, along with his unidentified friend on finding that the victim was alone, entered her house and allegedly molested her.In her complaint, the victim's mother has stated that the suspects allegedly showed the victim a pornographic video clip from their mobile phone before molesting her.
The suspect has been sent to police custody while his unidentified accomplice is missing.
Police said that after the news of the incident spread, some youth from the area tried to assault the brother of the accused and also force the shops in the area to shut down on Wednesday afternoon, leading to a law and order situation. Police had to resort to lathi charge to disperse the crowd and police have been deployed in the area.
Speaking to TOI, Jalna Superintendent of police Sanjay Mohite said, "Soon after the matter was reported, the accused was arrested and he has been sent to police custody. On Wednesday afternoon, some youth tried to disrupt harmony in the area by trying to assault the brother of the accused and also forcing the shops in the area to shut down. We have registered case in this regard too and will soon arrest the youth who tried to disrupt harmony in the area."
