Aurangabad: Gold jewellery and cash to the tune of Rs 2.20 lakhs were stolen in three separate incidents of house breaking thefts (HBTs) reported with the city police.
In the first incident registered with the Cidco police, a 40-year-old Ananta Dattatraya Chamalwars house in N-7 Cidco was targeted by unidentified suspects between Monday and Tuesday morning.
As per the complaint lodged by him, he went to Nanded on Monday to attend a marriage and found his house burgled after he returned back on Tuesday morning. The suspects have fled with gold and silver ornaments to the tune of Rs 1.10 lakh. A case has been registered.
In the second incident reported with the Osmanpura police station, a 52-year old woman's house was burgled and ornaments and cash to the tune of Rs 10, 000 were stolen sometime in last week.
Meanwhile, a bag-lifiting was reported with the Satara police on Monday. A 38-year-old trader Sunil Anna Trigote, a resident of Pundliknagar area was targeted by unidentified suspects. In his complaint, he has stated that on Monday he withdrew Rs 1 lakh, put the money in bag and left for Waluj by his car. He took a break for a cup of tea near Mahanubhav Ashram and went to a roadside tea stall leaving the bag inside the locked car. Culprits broke the wind shield of the car, took the bag out and vanished. into the air. The incident came to light after he returned to his car. A case has been registered in the Satara police station.
