Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A smart queue system, the use of advanced technology for crowd management, and a set of conservation measures are some of the development works state govt has planned at the Tuljabhavani temple in Dharashiv's Tuljapur, around 260 km from here.
During his visit to Tuljapur on Saturday, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis incorporated these and other works in the development plan for the famous temple. In a post on social media, the CMO, quoting Fadnavis, said the Tuljabhavani temple will be developed as a world-class religious and cultural destination.
"To make the holy place a world-class religious and cultural tourist destination, sustainable development is necessary with the participation of the locals. For this, the implementation of the Tuljapur Development Plan will be important. With this plan, devotees will get an easy and quick darshan. New facilities will be developed by upgrading the existing infrastructure and preserving the history, culture, and spiritual heritage of the temple," the CM said.
Widening of roads, new parking arrangements, transport services up to the temple, an increased number of public toilets, effective solid waste and sewage management, and the expansion of primary health facilities are some of the works proposed at the Tuljabhavani temple.
Around 73 acres is required for additional works around the temple, and the development plan has mentioned the need for Rs 338 crore for it. "Once the land acquisition works are completed, other works in the development plan will gain momentum," the CMO said.
Hailed as one of the Shaktipeethas in Maharashtra, the Tuljabhavani temple witnesses a rush of devotees from different parts of Maharashtra, along with neighbouring states from South India.
