Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC) and the Smart City Mission have won two state-level awards in the ‘Rajiv Gandhi Administrative Efficiency Campaign and Competition 2025–26', an initiative of the Maharashtra govt aimed at improving transparency and efficiency in governance.
Among proposals submitted by municipal corporations across the state, the CSMC-Smart City initiative ‘Municipal Services via WhatsApp and Chatbot' secured second rank at the state level, earning a cash prize of 6 lakh. The project uses advanced technology to provide multiple civic services directly to citizens through digital platforms.
In another achievement, the initiative ‘Aamhala Khelu Dya' (Let Us Play) secured first rank at the state level in the ‘Government Officials' category, winning a cash prize of 50,000. The programme was implemented under the guidance of former municipal commissioner G Sreekanth. The ‘Aamhala Khelu Dya' initiative focuses on removing encroachments from playgrounds and maintaining their cleanliness, ensuring safe and accessible play spaces for children across the city.
