AURANGABAD: The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has introduced a special educational project in two CBSE schools run by it during the ongoing Diwali vacation to achieve the desired progress of students.
Named ‘Hi5’, the project will also involve parents and focus on improving the reading, writing, listening and speaking abilities of students up to Class III, who are lagging in their academic progress.
AMC education officer Sanjeev Sonar on Thursday said as part of the project, a group of five students each has been formed.
“While two of our schools have sought affiliation with the CBSE in the recent past, a section of students is found to have been lagging in achieving the desired pace in their academics while adapting to the new curriculum. These students will be aided by teachers,” he said.
The identified students from each group will be given daily tasks and activities to perform. A special academic programme has been framed for this purpose.
“We have also formed a WhatsApp group of parents, who are requested to monitor and ensure active participation of their wards in the project. The overall participation of students in the project will be judged after schools reopen post-Diwali vacation,” Sonar said.
Around 70 students from the CBSE board school of AMC at Garkheda and Osmanabad are taking part in the project. The schools concerned have Diwali vacations till November 8, up to which the project ‘Hi5’ will be carried out, school principal Shashikant Ubale said.
