Police grill Pune-based homeopath

Aurangabad: Probing a case registered based on a complaint lodged by a homeopathic doctor, the cyber crime branch of Beed police summoned a Pune-based homeopath and grilled him. His mobile phone was seized.
Police said the Pune based-homeopath had allegedly created a fake social media account in the name of the woman homeopath, and had been posting absurd messages through that account.
Cyber police inspector Ravindra Gaikwad said the woman lodged a complaint against an unidentified person creating a fake social media account using her photo. Based on her complaint, an offence was registered and Beed police reached out to the social media company seeking details.
In the meantime, the accused homeopath’s wife caught him using a social media account registered in a woman’s name. This resulted in a friction between the couple, following which he deleted the account. Around the same time, police received a reply from the social media company helping the police identify the suspect.
Then the suspect was called and he came before the police on Friday. After grilling for couple of hours, it came to fore that he was the complainant’s batch mate in medical studies. “It is a case of one-sided love. The suspect is already married but still had been looking ways to contact the woman,” said an officer privy to the probe
