Aurangabad: The Latur police have arrested seven men for their involvement in cases of robbery, house break-in and thefts committed in different parts of the state.
Police have also recovered over 900 grams of gold, 500-gram silver, some cash along with a four-wheeler that was used by the accused for commuting.
“Their arrest has helped us detect 13 pending offences in Latur and neighbouring districts. Preliminary probe has revealed that the accused have also committed a series of property offences in different parts of the state. Whatever information is being extracted from them has been shared with the police units concerned. This is being done so that they can take custody of the accused and detect the pending cases,” a police officer said.
“Last month, burglars had targeted the house of a local businessman, Aditya Bandewar, and decamped with 415 grams of gold and Rs 5 lakh cash. An offence in this regard was at registered at Vivekananda police station,” the officer added.
Latur superintendent of police (SP) Nikhil Pingale had formed four teams to crack the case. While working on the case, police teams managed to arrest Lakhan alias Amardeep Jogdand, Kishore alias Pappu Jogdand and Praveen alias Shimana Mane — all residents of Ambajogai.
