Aurangabad: The 38th annual conference of the Maharashtra Ophthalmological Society (Moscon) has been organized at MGM’s Rukmini Hall from October 26 to 28. The Marathwada Ophthalmological Society and the Aurangabad Association of Ophthalmologists are jointly the event.
The state-level event is expected to witness the participation of 1500 doctors. The three-day conference will be marked by live relay of surgery, sessions on communication skills, complex strabismus surgery and talks by international faculty.
Professor of ophthalmology and visual sciences and faculty of medicine & health sciences at the University of Nottingham, Harminder Dua will talk on corneal nerves in health & disease as well as neuropathic keratopathy-what is it & what to do.
Head of department of opthalmology at AIIMS, Atulkumar RP, Delhi based specialist Rajesh Sinha, head of scientific committee of All India Ophthalmological Society, Lalit Verma and Directorate of Medical Education and Research deputy director, Tatyarao Lahane will guide the delegates.
A hackathon workshop which will run simultaneously with the sessions at the conference will witness the participation of biomedical engineers. Organizers said that the event is aimed at addressing the lack of hygiene, lack of awareness and misconceptions with respect to eye and eye related problems in the general public.
