Currently, Shinde is in Delhi and will fly down to Nanded on Sunday at 9.15 pm. Not taking any chances, Nanded and Hingoli district police have started keeping a close eye on the Shiv Sena workers who are Uddhav Thackeray's supporters.

Meanwhile, ahead of Shinde's visit to the Marathwada region, Uddhav Thackeray sacked Aurangabad Central MLA Pradeep Jaiswal from the post of Mahanagar president and appointed former MLC Kishanchand Tanwani. Jaiswal is one of the five Sena MLAs from Aurangabad district to have pledged loyalty to Shinde.

The visit is being looked upon as an all-out effort to influence workers at the grassroots level and voters of Shiv Sena to convince them to switch their loyalty over to the Shinde camp.
