Maha waqf board initiates maiden recruitment process

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Maharashtra State Board of Waqf has for the first time since its formation in 2002 initiated the process to recruit permanent staffers.The recruitment drive will fill 60 vacant positions — 25 district waqf officers, 31 junior clerks, a stenographer and a junior engineer and two assistants.“This is the first recruitment drive by the board. It reflects the board’s commitment to strengthening its workforce and enhancing its operational capabilities to serve the community better,” Maharashtra State Board of Waqf chairman and MLC Wajahat Mirza said.Board chief executive officer M B Tashildar said, “It’s a historic move. The exercise marks a direct hiring process for the district waqf officers and other employees. The board has partnered with the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection to facilitate the recruitment.”Tashildar said the selected candidates would undergo comprehensive training in various government institutes. “The training aims at equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively fulfil their roles. On completion of the training, they will be posted across the state,” he said.MP Imtiaz Jaleel, who is also a member of the Maharashtra State Board of Waqf, said the move to recruit permanent staffers showed “its proactive approach to address the requirement of staffers and improve the overall functioning of the waqf institutions”.
