Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Marathwada Institute of Technology (MIT), in association with the Indian Geotechnical Society, local chapter, is set to host a three-day international conference on ‘Geotechnical Engineering for a Sustainable Tomorrow' at MIT from Thursday. As a precursor to the event, a special workshop themed on ‘High Speed Rail and Geotechnical Challenges' is scheduled on Wednesday.
MIT director general Munish Sharma said both events would involve experts from India and abroad, along with senior govt officials from both Centre and state.
"These events will provide an insight into the latest technological advancements in Geotechnical and Rock Engineering. A series of workshops, expert talks, brainstorming sessions, exhibitions, corporate presentations, theme presentations, and a cultural program will take place during the course of both events," he said.
