said, “Like every year, this year, too, the festival special includes colourful creative diyas, candles in innovative moulds and décor items, which have been put on sale at ‘Sabalgram’ for three days from Friday. The core aim is to financially rehabilitate these special children and make them visible in the society.”

“Children of various centres receive huge orders for cholcolates, especially from industrial circle,” said project co-ordinator Varsha Bhale.

She said, “Various centres in the city conducts workshops for over 200 children who are trained in file unit, tailoring unit, envelope unit, gardening unit, home science unit (papad making, chips making, chutney making, chocolate making, etc.). While training the children both contemporary as well as traditional approach is considered. Profits made from sale of products are distributed as stipend among the trainees.”

Bhale said, “Around 10 centres in the city of children with mental disability, cerebral palsy, autism and multiple disabilities, have been active since 2001 not only to improve the life of their children but also to develop their skills and make them visible in the society.”
