Daily Jalna-Pune train from July 4: Raosaheb Danve

AURANGABAD: Minister of state for railways Raosaheb Danve on Sunday announced a daily train to Pune from his home town Jalna via Aurangabad and other stations from Marathwada.
While the train is slated to pass via Aurangabad, passenger activists have raised doubts over starting of a new train to Pune. Railway activist Gautam Nahata said at the most the existing bi-weekly train running on the Nanded-Hadapsar (Pune) route may witness increase in frequency.

Danve, while addressing a public event at Jalna on Sunday, said private operators in past used to bribe rail officials for not starting the train to Pune.
“Private tour operators from Nanded, Parbhani, Jalna and Aurangabad together operate nearly 450 buses to Pune on a daily basis,” he said.
Danve could not be reached for comments seeking more details about the plans of the new train. When contacted, SCR authorities said they have not received any official intimation about starting of a new train to Pune from Marathwada.
“The Nanded-Hadapsar (Pune) Express (12730) runs every Tuesday and Sunday from Pune. Plans were afoot to increase the frequency of the train. However, we have not received any official notification till date,” a senior SCR official said.
