Cyber conman dupes man after getting ATM details over phone

Chikalthana area

falling under the limits of MIDC Cidco police has been duped to the tune of Rs 10, 000 by the unidentified cyber cheats. The man in his complaint recently, stated that on Monday morning around 11.45 am, the conmen called on his phone. As the cell phone was at home, his 10-year old son answered the phone call. The suspect claiming to be representative of the nationalized bank sought details of

ATM card

asking him to provide the numbers mentioned on the ATM card if he wants his father to continue availing the ATM service. The boy readily agreed and provided the numbers mentioned on the ATM card, following which the suspects made a couple of online transactions, deducting an amount of Rs 10, 000 from his account. Soon after receiving the couple of message alerts about the deduction of the amount, the man approached the bank, where he was informed that the details shared have been misused to steal money from his account.

With no option left, the man reached the MIDC Cidco police station and lodged a complaint against unidentified suspects. The police have registered a case under various sections of Information and Technology Act against unidentified suspects.
