Crime branch seizes 16 kg marijuana; nabs supplier
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A team of the crime branch arrested a 37-year-old man transporting 16 kg of high-quality marijuana following a tip-off on Monday.
The accused, identified as Feroz Dilawar Khan, is a resident of Phulenagar in Pandharpur.
The operation was led by assistant inspector Kashinath Mahandule along with sub-inspector Pravin Wagh. Acting on a specific intelligence, the officers learned that Khan was planning to deliver the contraband in Salampure Nagar, under the jurisdiction of the MIDC Waluj Police Station.

To avoid suspicion, Khan was reportedly transporting the marijuana in a bag used for urea packaging. The crime branch team laid a trap on the road in Salampure Nagar and successfully apprehended him.
Following the arrest, an FIR was registered under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the MIDC Waluj police station. The accused was produced in court on Tuesday, where he was remanded to three days of police custody for further investigation.
