Cops rescue Mexican woman after distress call
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Jalna police has rescued a woman (43) from Mexico after she reached out to her country's embassy in India following alleged disputes with a man she had been staying with.According to police, the woman was in contact with Pawan Kumar Jha, a resident of Himachal Pradesh, through Facebook since 2015. She had come to India on March 5 last year to be with Jha, after leaving her husband in Mexico due to personal differences."Acting on the communication, our Jalna police traced the woman and brought her to the police station, where her statement was recorded and assistance was extended to ensure her safety," said Jalna superintendent of police Ajaykumar Bansal.Formalities regarding her expired visa are being handled as per legal procedures."Police later coordinated with the Mexican consulate in Mumbai and facilitated her travel there. Authorities have now initiated the process for her repatriation to Mexico," said additional SP Ayush Nopany.
