Constitution

, colleges have been asked to have activities such as reading the key provisions of the Constitution, on Tuesday.


Lectures, debates, and essay writing competition are expected to be held by the colleges on the occasion.

On October 25, the central authorities had established a correspondence with the state government in order to inform the state-level authorities about the official planning for the Constitution Day. The campaign will begin from November 29 to April 14, 2020.

“This year the country is celebrating the 70th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution. To commemorate this very important event in the life of Indian democracy, Government of India proposes to launch a national campaign, focussing on creating awareness regarding a very important feature of the Constitution- the Foundation Duties,” as per the the correspondence reads.

MIT principal Santosh Bhosle said, “Every student must know the fundamental rights and duties mentioned in the Constitution. Knowledge about the basic tenants of the Constitution will make students responsible citizens,” he said.

“The central authorities have shared a list of activities to be undertaken by the institutions to mark the 70th anniversary of the Foundation Day. We have appealed all the colleges to participation wholeheartedly during the campaign,” Authorities from the education department said.
