Cockroach Janta Party plans protest in Pune on June 11
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has announced a protest in Pune on June 11, intensifying its nationwide agitation demanding the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in competitive examinations.
The protest at Savitribai Phule Pune University will mark the outfit’s first demonstration in Maharashtra after its maiden stir at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on Sunday.
The announcement was made through CJP’s official X handle, which stated, “Cockroaches will demand Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation in Maharashtra’s educational capital Pune.” Founder Abhijeet Dipke echoed the call, posting in Marathi, “Let’s meet in Pune. Hail Maharashtra.”
Dipke, who recently returned to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, has been stepping up the campaign, warning that protests will be held across multiple cities if the demand is not met. He has also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should remove Pradhan if he does not step down voluntarily.
The outfit has held the Union minister accountable for repeated controversies surrounding examination processes, particularly NEET, citing a series of paper leaks and recruitment irregularities over the past few years as the trigger for the agitation.
Addressing reporters earlier, Dipke questioned the Centre’s ability to curb such incidents despite repeated assurances.
He also drew a comparison with India’s global positioning, saying that if the country can play a role in resolving international conflicts, it should ensure fair and leak-free examinations domestically.
