Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University’s commerce question paper allegedly leaked
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: An alleged question paper leak, through WhatsApp, took place during the third-year examination of the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) for the commerce stream on Saturday. The authorities at one examination centre noticed the suspicious behaviour of a group of students as they did not enter the exam centre till the scheduled start time at 2pm.Exam authorities then checked the cellphones of the students and allegedly found the soft copy of the question paper for the direct taxation subject. The exam centre officials soon reported the incident to the Bamu authorities, who sent squads to the centre."We had been hearing talks of the question paper leak through WhatsApp ever since the exam began on April 8. As per talks, the question paper was made available around one hour before the start of examination," exam centre authorities said. When contacted, B N Dole, the director of Bamu's examination and evaluation board, cellphones of nine students were confiscated. "We have ordered an inquiry into the incident and further probe will reveal whether the question paper was leaked or not," he said.
Student activist Tukaram Saraf said the alleged question paper leak incident must be probed with the help of police. "Besides a probe by the university, a parallel investigation is required by the police. The university authorities must lodge a police complaint at the earliest," he said.
