Auric will use recycled water up to 42%
Aurangabad: Aurangabad Industrial City (Auric), being developed as a part of Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC), will have enough water to meet all its needs, Aurangabad Industrial Township Ltd (AITL), the managing body of has said.
Addressing the concerns for water supply to DMIC Shendra-Bidkin, Gajanan Patil, joint managing director of AITL said that the mega industrial-commercial-housing project will not suffer from water scaricity with the 20 MLD fresh water tank and a water treatment facilities.
According to the plan designed by AITL, a separate 52-km long pipeline is being laid from Jayakwadi to Shendra DMIC for freshwater supply to Auric. AITL infra manager Mahesh ShindePatil said that the water from Jayakwadi will go to the water treatment plant (WTP) at Khodegaon, 26 kilometres away from Shendra.
“5km from the Khodegaon, WTP is an Elevated Storage Reservoir (ESR) which is being built on a hill so that water can be transported on gravity without the need of a pump to Shendra DMIC,” he said adding that the work of WTP is 90% complete and that for the pipeline laying is 70% complete. Gajanan Patil said that Shendra DMIC has an Underground Storage Reservoir (UGSR) with a capacity of 20 million litres per day (MLD). “This tank will hold potable water,” he said.
In order to ensure that minimun wastage of water, the Aurangabad Industrial city will also treat its sewage water and common effluent water. “There will be separate lines running from each plot to the sewage treatment plant and the common effluent treatment plant carrying sewage water and industry waste water. This water will be treated using the Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) process. The recycled water will be distributed to all the plots through separate lines than that of freshwater. 42% of the water needs at Auric will be met through this recycled water,” Patil said.
