AURANGABAD: Three of city players, Mohammad Salman, Riyaz Shaik and Omar Farooqui, have qualified for the national-level Snooker League finale to be held at Pune from March 22. As many as 64 players registered their participation in the qualifier league hosted by Red Triangle Snooker Academy and organised by Sterlite Tech in Aurangabad which was conducted under the auspices of Billiards and Snooker Association of Aurangabad recently.

Asian Snooker Champion Aditya Mehta during his visit to the city recently had stated that Aurangabad has huge potential for development of snooker. “We know, we cannot get the top of line condition in every nook and corner of the country but now with the internet one can start learning from wherever they are,” Mehta said. Shoaib Pathan, Aamir Ansari, Swapnil Patil, Rohan Kothare and Ameya Tilak have appealed for city parents to work on the snooker skills of the children from a younger age.
