Aurangabad man booked for issuing triple talaq

AURANGABAD: Cantonment Police have booked a man for allegedly issuing oral divorce (triple talaq) to his wife, among other charges.

The accused, a resident of the railway station area, and three other family members have been booked for domestic violence and demanding dowry from the complainant.

“The victim in her complaint has said she was forced by her husband to get Rs 2 lakh from her parents in order to buy a two-wheeler. As she could not arrange for the money, the woman was being subjected to mental and physical torture since April 1, 2020,” a police officer said.

“In a fit of rage, the husband also issued triple talaq to the complainant in front of her mother and grandmother,” the police officer added.
