AURANGABAD: To mark the occasion of International
Yoga Day, senior authorities from the district administration on Tuesday morning gathered at the lush green lawn of the world famous Ellora Caves and performed Yoga.
Aurangabad, the tourism capital of Maharashtra, is the only place in the country to house two world heritage sites of Ajanta and Ellora Caves.
District collector Sunil Chavan, who was amongst the participants said that the reason to chose Ellora Caves for the occasion was to send a message about country's rich culture and heritage, and also promote tourism.
The day was also found to have been observed at the premises of Aurangabad as well as rural headquarters independently and witnessed presence of commissioner of police Nikhil Gupta and superintendent of police Maneesh Kalwaniya, respectively.
Policemen across the hierarchy marked their attendance at the events held at their respective headquarter grounds.
